About the Event
In the early days of November 1913 Jung wrote in his journal – the second volume of the recently published
Black Books – “My soul, where are you? Do you hear me? I speak, I call you – are you there? I have shaken
the dust of all the lands from my feet, and I have come to you, I am with you. Oh, that you must speak
through me, that my speech and I are your symbol and expression!” While The Collected Works of C. G. Jung
give us Jung’s theory, the Black Books provide the deep soul story out of which his conceptual work evolved.
In this presentation we will ask our own souls to speak to us through writing, as Jung did. Proprioceptive
Writing is an evocative process that engages our inner world in depth and prompts us to express thoughts
and emotions, intuition and imagination as they take form within us while we move the pen across the page.
During the course of the evening we will take Jung’s words personally, and enter into a dialogue with our
own souls.
